alteration: | Pervasive oxidation, attributed to weathering, is prevalent to depths of as much as approximately 50 to 75 meters (Rogers and others, 1998). Fine-grained, botryoidal, chalcedonic quartz coated with magnesium oxide is associated with the oxidation. The rocks have been subjected to pervasive sericitic and silicic, hydrothermal alteration, and contain silicic and stockwork quartz-sericite-sulfide veins (Rogers and others, 1998). |
